Sunrise at the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC
A few days ago I decided to wake up early and catch the sun as it rose around the Brooklyn Bridge. I got there when the sky was still dark and the street lights were still on from the night before. I stood on the concourse to the right of the bridge (see first image below) simply experiencing my surroundings for a while before I actually took any photographs. It was really cool to see the sun as it rose ever so slowly in the purple and blue sky.
I then made my way onto the actual bridge itself which was partially under construction at the time. There are two pathways on the top of the bridge where pedestrians walk on one side and the cyclists whizz by on the other. Underneath these pathways is the road where cars continually drive by across the bridge. I soon found out that I had to be very careful while I was taking pictures on the bridge because the walkway and the cycle lane was very narrow in some areas. I really do like the architecture of the Brooklyn Bridge. There are so many lines and different sections that make up the overall structure. It was fun trying to keep my lines straight in the frame as I captured images with my ultra-wide angle lens.
If you get a chance to visit this part of town, I definitely recommend walking across the bridge at least once!
